On January 9th, 2009, YBA sportscasters graduates, Derek Supino from Lynnfield, and Alex Reimer from Natick were invited by the Salem Five Bank to introduce a new savings program for children at the Boston downtown branch of the bank. Salem Five entered into an agreement with Dustin Pedroia to be the spokesperson for their new financial literacy campaign. The Boston PR group the Castle Group suggested that two young sportscasters run the interview, and WCVB TV5, WHDH TV7, the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald covered the news conference in Boston.
